Move over Melt & Pour! Cold Process is the REAL DEAL! This is a Cold Processed Natural Soap Making Workshop. Learn to make beautiful soap with natural ingredients and pure essential oils. In this 4 hour workshop, you will learn the technique of making vegan, palm oil free, soap. You will select your own essential oil mix and blend your fragrance, and weigh and blend your oils and butters with lye before creating two soap loaves in designs of your choice, using mica powders, natural clays and colourants. You will receive a soap making guide with a recipe in that you can follow at home. We provide everything you need for you to create 10-12 bars of your very own handmade soap. Each bar would retail at £6, so you are taking away beautiful gifts to share with family and friends, plus the knowledge and recipe to create your own soap at home in the future. I give soap for Christmas, birthdays and as Thank You's and I always get compliments, months later, on how much people adore the kind, creamy nature of the soap and the beautiful scent. People will think of you and smile every time they wash their hands. Soapmaking is a soothing and relaxing activity, who knew making soap could make you happy! I jumped for joy at the sight of my first charcoal swirl. Natural soap making is a skilled artisan craft, far removed from the tubs of melt and pour that you can buy in stores or in find in some workshops. We create soap from scratch using raw ingredients which includes mixing Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) with oils and butters, this is what starts the magical saponification process which turns simple oils into soap. So, long sleeves, covered shoes and hair tied back is a must. Safety protection and one to one guidance will be provided, or if you prefer, we will handle the lye for you. You will create two 6 bar loaves of natural soap, (minimum 10 bars in total) allowing you to experiment with two different designs. We will teach you swirling and layering techniques using colourful mica powders and natural colourants such as activated charcoal. As the loaves need to harden for 24 hours before cutting, you can collect (or have delivered to you) a presentation box with your soaps, each beautifully wrapped and labelled with your own personal name or message.
